关于项目

Designed for students at all levels of Spanish proficiency, you’ll improve and refine your Spanish language skills both inside and outside the classroom. 在这个强化语言课程中, you’ll immerse into local language and culture alongside other international students. 朗uage courses focus on oral comprehension and expression, 听力理解, and grammar components appropriate to your language level. You’ll also have the option of further improving your Spanish language skills while gaining valuable experience in a not-for-credit internship. You’ll find 阿利坎特 is the perfect place to put your new and improved Spanish skills into action.

程序结构

你将参加3门语言课程. Each course meets for 60 contact hours/4 credits. You may earn a total of 12 credits (up to 180 contact hours).

朗uage courses meet 3 hours per day, Monday-Friday. Semesters are organized into 4-week blocks; you may be tested at the end of each block and moved into a higher language level.

额外收费, 你可以报名参加一个可选的, non-credit internship to further your language skills while gaining valuable experience with a local company or organization. This internship will help hone your fluency and communication skills, as well as deepen your understanding of Spanish culture.

CEA will work with the 阿利坎特大学 to find you a meaningful placement. 联系 hours will be arranged with your internship placement. 工作安排 vary, but expect to work at your internship no less than 10 hours per week. 宝博体育 are available for students at every language level; however, some placements will only be available to students at higher levels.

You’ll take a language placement exam before you leave for 阿利坎特.You’ll automatically be registered for your language courses. To ensure that you receive credit for the language level you place into, have your home univesity pre-approve courses at several levels before you leave for 西班牙. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

远足

走出去探索! 远足 are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs*. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. 你会收到一份旅行日程表 during 取向; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.

Tabarca岛

在阿利坎特港, a 45-minute ferry ride carries you to Tabarca岛, the only inhabited island of the Autonomous Community of Valencia. This natural marine reserve is a prime example of virtually undamaged Mediterranean marine life, 水质优良, 以及令人难以置信的生物多样性. 参观期间, you’ll learn about the island’s history; once a pirate refuge, the island’s only village was settled by a group of Genoese sailors in 1770 after they were rescued from a shipwreck off the Tunisian coast. Calpe y el Peñon de Ifach

No matter which way you approach the community of Calpe, it’s impossible to miss the Peñon de Ifach. 从腓尼基人开始, 这个1,089-foot-tall rock has protected Calpe Bay from pirates and raiders. 今天, this massive monolith is a nature preserve — home to more than 300 species of wildlife and many rare plants — and the largest rock in the Mediterranean. One of the Costa Blanca’s most memorable coastal towns, Altea系统 retains its own unique Spanish charm despite its increasing popularity. 阿尔加喷泉

Travel to the interior of 阿利坎特 province to the small town of Algar, where an abundance of water and a mild climate allow for the cultivation of Mediterranean products such as almonds and vines in traditional terraces. We’ll visit the 阿尔加喷泉 and see the springs and waterfalls of the Algar River. Hiking up the river provides the perfect opportunity to photograph the beautiful scenery.
